Denver Broncos Needs REVIS!!

Ok, as you guys may know, i am a Broncos fan. I think that Darrelle Revis would fit perfectly in Denver. Why?

1. Revis wants a Superbowl ring (as do everyone of his caliber)...so, what better place than Denver??

2. Champ Bailey has clearly lost a step or two...and would be perfect as a FS that can also cover WR3 (like the pesky Welker of NE) and at the same time can roam back there as single deep safety with range. Think Charles Woodson of GB or Rod Woodson of Raiders (years ago). I don't think that he is a hard hitter like Ronnie Lott...but he could definitely be a rangy type safety...that would not miss a floater like Rahim Moore! Adams can man the SS spot and be the enforcer at the line.

3. This would give Denver a top notch secondary to go against the best offense in the league (e.g. NE). They already have top LBs. Their DL could improve of course...but that can be done thru the draft.

4. It is a RARE opportunity to get a shot at the best CB in the league in a long time (since Deion Sanders). IMHO, Revis is a way more complete CB than Deion ever was...truly shutdown CB that can support the run.

5. Denver's secondary was exposed...and remains the Achilles heel for a Superbowl run. The secondary was good during the regular season thanks to the explosive pass rush limiting QB's time to scan the field. In the playoffs, when the pass rush was neutralized, the secondary was burned badly. Also, see NE's and Houston's wins.

What do you guys think?

He can be a bit of a head case but I wouldn't mind seeing him in orange. The buzz about him here tho' is pretty quiet.
 
I think you need a quarterback that doesn't hate playing in the cold.

Your current QB didn't throw the ball downfield because he was frozen and had no confidence in those conditions.

Plus the rest of that defense is waaaaaay overrated. That touchdown just before the half was almost as damaging as the joke at the end.
 
Peyton didn't have a problem against anyone during the home games during the regular season. He didn't throw deep because Ravens played deep...the safeties were far off the line. So, Peyton had to go short which worked for the most part...but the D was just plain aweful and was exposed.
 
Kinda tough to judge Peyton on the last game of the season. I agree with Thai... I don't think fear or weather had anything to do with it. He throws to the weak spot in coverage almost 95% of the time. If teams play deep, he will take 6-8 yard underneath throws all day long.

The defense is decent but really they got burned on a handful of plays, mostly thanks to Bailey, which is why Thai suggested he needs some help. Be it Revis or a safety, he does need some help. The guy is getting up there and it showed.

Let's not forget how the zebras influenced that particular game either...

With your reasoning, does Brady have problem in cold weather too?? In fact, it sure looks like Peyton did a much better job against the Ravens D than Brady. But it has NOTHING to do with cold weather...Peyton can adjust himself and offense on the fly (he is himself an offensive coordinator)...Brady cannot. Brady still needs his coordinator to set the play and then he may call quick audibles. Brady can't change how an offense runs on the fly...thus, when a defense recognizes the Pats offense, it's game over for Pats.

But at the same time, Jets organization was also a head case! Was there really any question that Revis was not the best by a long shot??! Yet, Jets tried to play the negotiating game with him! Remember, Revis had supporters within the team who said that he needs to be paid.
 
Even withe cold,bad plays,questionable coaching the bottom line is the Broncos had A 7 point lead with 31 seconds left so they actually overcame those issues and one bad misjusdgment allowed the game to be tied and the Ravens just seemed to have the momentum going into OT. The Broncos lost that game period.

True...but, if Revis was there, then the game would not have even been closed and the Rahim mistake would not be a factor. Revis would not allow those long bombs that Bailey allowed. Revis is a major force that can take out the best WR. Bailey is still good, but against speedy receivers, he simply can't keep up without safety help. He would be great against the Wes Welker type WRs.

Revis makes a defense so much better by shutting down one side of the field. He has shut down the best of the best on a consistent basis! Calvin Johnson? No problem. Andre Johnson? Easy. AJ Green? Please!

Even though it is quiet on Revis rumor, it does not mean much...because Denver was also (relatively) quiet in getting Peyton Manning. John Elway is smart guy...he knows what his team needs. Hopefully, there is still room under salary cap.

I am just hoping!

Not commenting on Brady. Peyton hates the cold. You will see. I totally stick to what I said. Dome-boy from Tennessee won't get it done for you. Or you'll need to pray for a 60 degree day in December if you make it that far again.
 
And I'm a Cowboy fan so I know failure when I see it. You might even call me an expert. Denver oozes it.
 
Woohoo...i am late on the news...as if getting Welker wasn't enough, we also got one of the top CB in the league (a bit inexperience): Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie!!

6'2" 190 lbs...around/sub 4.3 speed...extremely quick & agile with amazing recovery speed. And he's a YOUNG 26 years old!!

I wonder what is going to happen to Champ Bailey. Chris Harris is solid at the other corner. Is Champ Bailey going to be the FS who is also assigned to cover the slot?? Adams can remain the enforcer at SS...maybe giving way to Rahim Moore on 3rd and long.

Besides Welker (who we have now), i can't think of any slot WR that can beat Bailey!

I firmly believe that with DRC, Harris, and Bailey, we won't have any problems with any 3-WR happy teams such as NE Pats.

What else do we need? Hopefully, we can get some young DL talent in the draft..maybe a safety to groom. We already signed Louis Vasquez from Chargers who is a very good yound guard. :)

What happened with Dumervill ? doh I think Revis island would look good n The silver & black yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (we ain't got a QB) :lalala:
 
The Dumervil mishap was interesting. It seems like Elway is trying his best to build a Superbowl team, and fast... mostly solid moves, on paper. Hopefully it works out on the field.

As for Bailey, love the guy, but he's lost a bit of his step.

Dumervil is a good player...but we can lose him. Dumervil is on decline i think...he disappears completely many times last year...and this is with him getting 1-on-1 blocking. He has never been good on run support.

I think that Denver should go after Osi Umenyiora, who may be on decline but he supports the run better.
 
It's a shame but I think Dumervil's agent cost him another $4mil on top of hi $4mil pay cut since another team won't pay what the Broncos offered. The Welker trade is great but means the end for Stokely.
