Diff E-Locker strange problem

Hi, Last year i've changed my e-locker motor, it was all rusted etc...
So i found an almost new one and replace it. Everything was fine for the last year... but since 2-3 months, when i press the button, it doesn't works. The light blink and the diff doesn't lock. At first, i though the motor was blow again, but when i jack one rear wheel, and make my wheels turn a little bit, the diff lock and unlock normally at the first time !!! any idea what can be wrong ??

you have to jack the truck up to engage it every time, read the manual...



i'm joking, maybe the motor isn't getting enough current to actuate when the tires are on the ground, but it's typically normal for the locker to need 1/4 rotation of the gears or so to fully lock, that said check the wiring to the motors and make sure they aren't cracked,frayed or exposed.

as it sounds as if the motor works but is sluggish, the only thing i can think of is a voltage/current problem going from the switch to the motor or the motor you got second hand was on it's death bed which would also make sense as since yours was bad why wouldn't it be bad on another truck that's used? see my reasoning there?

Yes, i know about the 1/4 turn to engage... when i try with my wheels down, i go forward and backward few time.... but nothing happen.. I also though about the possibility that the motor is going dead, but since the only job of the motor is to "crank" the little spring, it doesn't make difference if the wheels are up or not... Also, the motor looks like new cause i bought it from Oklahoma, and Since i live in Canada, we have salty road... not in Oklahoma

it makes no difference how the part looks on the outside, it's how it looks on the inside.

and let me ask you this, if the motor only moves "this little spring" then why did yours fail? regardless of the job motors are rated for their intended purpose and do eventually fail, sure that motor you just installed looks new, but do you know how many times the previous owner turned on his e-locker? how many times that motor was engaged or used? parts wear and break, it's life.....take my advise or not, that's up to you, but here, broken down as simple as i can make it.

problems
1. the parts are worn and there's extra resistance with-in the parts themselves
2. the motor is not getting enough current to fully power the actuation of the piston
3. the spring with-in your e-locker is also worn and no longer gives the proper resistance to engage the locker when tires are on the ground.
basically a broken mechanical switch.

that's really the only 3 reasons why that should ever happen the only other thing i can think of is maybe you have something like dirt in your diff or some out of bounds problem that only you are having, imo

OK.. so i'll try to remove it, and clean it... Will do some test about the resistance of the motor..

i just had a problem like this best way to test is to take the motor out and press the button and see if it turns
