Hey guys,
I own a 1996 4runner but looking into getting a japanese import Hilux surf this summer.
Other than the engine, what are the major differences between both?
Thanks
Pat
I think Canada's rule is 15 years.
i am out here in okinawa and i have a 94 surf and i need a autamtic shifter for it. will a 89-95 4runner shifter fit my transmission?
ooops!!! Didn't notice he was in canada. Lets just pretend I never said that and move on. My bad :smashputer:
What year of Hilux Surf are you wanting to import? I'm only asking this because the U.S. has an import law where the vehicle has to be at least 25 years old in order for it to legally imported and it seems like you are interested in importing a 1996-2002 Hilux Surf given that your current t4r is a 1996. This also means that as of right now the youngest Hilux Surf you can import would be from 1991 or any year below that. Hope this helps
Another small, yet valuable addition is their side marker/repeaters in the front fenders.
I added some off a UK surf (along with the fashionable clear corners) to my 2nd Gen.
I liked giving extra notification to other drivers regarding my directional intentions,![]()
