Yes, I am a firefighter paramedic, and I am on the board of director for a level 3 hospital in my area. Additionally, my wife is currently doing her clinical rotations for her NP and is a transplant coordinator. I have in the past worked in two emergency departments, ICU, and cardiac... You?
 
As for the "race card and hatred'" I will remind you of the fist posting you so clearly highlighted. Let me ask you, after you read that article, did you even bother to check? Or are you one of those who assume everything posted on the internet is correct?

Aha...ok, what do you know about medical system? Are you familiar with Medicare rules and regs and payment plan? Are you familiar with how Canadian healthcare system works?

Me? I am a physician for over 10 years. (And yes, i am familiar with how well verse the board members are to the medical system...very peripheral knowledge.)

Actually, i am a Denver Broncos fan (since 1989 when they drafted Steve Atwater, my first football card)...i did leave for a while when Josh McDaniel took over (that guy is worst than Obama in my book!!). Now, i am back with Denver with John Fox.

Please dont use the Canadian system as an example. Its gotten slightly worse since we elected a conservative government but I can tell you from experience that most Canadians are more worried about getting sick while in the US than they are while in Canada. Despite its criticisms almost every experience I have had has been totally reasonable. Some people may ***** about it but there would be a hell of a lot more outrage if anyone tried to take it away!

Canadian healthcare system has been a problem for a long time JD...not just recently. My nurse father (in Canada) had rectal bleeding (blood in toilet bowl) for months and months...doctor just gave him iron pills to take. He was on the waiting list for a colonoscopy...i believe that he ended up waiting 6-8 months (or longer) before getting it done.

In the USA, anyone who is sick enough to get hospitalized will get seen and treated appropriately using the latest standard of care, whether they have funds (insurance for instance) or not. Yes, they may get a bill for it...but, most of the time (for tax reasons), hospitals will give them sizeable discounts depend on your monthly income. My hospital gives on average 80-90% discount on hospital bills for most folks without insurance and low monthly income.

And yes, as a hospital doctor, i HAVE to treat illegal immigrants to standard of care...sometimes, for weeks in my hospital before we can have a reasonable plan of discharge!

Anecdotal stories about Canadian healthcare aside, a lot of the issues stem from funding shortages thanks to our conservative government.

This doesn't change the fact that the Canadian system spends less per person for better outcomes.
 
I can't begin to tell you how these illegal immigrants know how to beat the system. They take an airplane from their country (where they can't afford health care) to the US and take a taxi directly to the hospital. I won't go into specifics, but I have dealt with at least 5 patients who have done this in my young career. As Thai said, we have to treat them to the standard of care and $$$ is not an issue. Some patients are blunt and tell me that meds/diagnostic testing is very expensive so why not come to America and get it all for free. I love seeing how people who are legal citizens and worked their tail off struggle to pay for their care but illegals have no issues. Our country has lost its way, especially over the last 4 years.

Whatever happened at the DNC doesn't surprise me. If Obama gets reelected, I fear the next 4 years will get even worse.

No, they are instead diverting massive amounts of money to the military and running a deficit. Keep in mind that before the conservatives took office we actually had a Surplus budget under Paul Martin and the liberal party.

It is even funnier that either CNN or MSNBC is blaming all this on the church in Florida for inciting this...instead of blaming the Muslim extremists nor even blaming the President for the dumba$$ response! Hell, we even APOLOGIZED to the Muslim extremists DESPITE them tearing our flag and killing Americans!!!
