Do 2010-13 trail wheel (s) have a clear coat?

Long story short: got a flat (3.5 inch long metal sell taping screw destroy the tire), went to Discount Tire to replace the tire, during the tire mount tech scratched the wheel pretty bad (flat area next the bid)… manager of DT was nice about it and told me what happened before I even saw it… and told me he will take care of it… what concerns me, is that he said he will send it of to be polished… I just do not see how that can be done if the wheel has a clear coat….-which I believe it does…

So... does anyone know for sure if 2010-13 trail wheels have a clear coat?

Thank you! I will see what DT will offer as a "fix"... I hope they will do it the right way.

We also have a paint department in our shop if you can feel the scratch with your finger nail then the scratch went through the clear coat and won’t be able to polish out.

the clear coat on my wheels are peeling as well. Guess I didn't wax them enough or used too harsh of a cleaning chemical.

That is exactly my concern as well, and yes, I can feel the scratches with my finger nail… and now since I know for sure that those wheels have a clear coat I know it can’t be just polished as DT manager suggested… going to DT today after work… will see what option I have and what they will offer as a “fix”… hoping the will do it right.

They probably have a shop that will do a quick sand, spray some new clear, then buff to match the rest of the wheel. For something small and not requiring an autobody quality finish like a wheel - that probably doesn't cost all that much for the DT to have done.
