Man,there sure were some complainers over the faux hoodscoop two years ago. Blocks vision? Are people thinking of a Pro Stock scoop?
Actually the moving lights better reference K.I.T.T. from Knightrider but one of those would attract attention from the cops but still would be retro-cool.

I think the writers must have been on acid or something, because the amount of vision blocked even in that circumstance is very minor.

I see SEs all over out here and 4Runners per capita in Colorado is quite high. I've been at stoplights more than once with 4 4Runners all at the light at once and even all generations represented.
Then I went to Florida and a few other east coast cities and Toyota trucks in general are pretty far and inbetween.
I love my '99 Highlander and it was not as common to see scooped 4Runners in the first two years of the scoop but now everybody has 'em and on the new Tacomas too.

There is no measurable benefit to making the scoop functional but it'll allow a nice pathway for crap to get into the engine bay.

Well,rain wouldn't have anything to do with it working or not working.
The scoops on the WRX are very purposeful but the IC right under the scoop has to be cleaned regularly or efficiency is reduced but on a vehicle that has no need for a working scoop is just overkill.

I think every 4r with a v8 should have a scoop. My limited does not and my 05SE did. I miss it and almost didn't get the limited because of it. Why a v6 needs one is another matter all together.

Ok...I've had just about enough of this garbage. Stop lying to yourselves...that scoop is butt-friggin-ugly. I think that I also read somewhere that since it is non-functional, it can shorten the life span of your engine...SIGNIFICANTLY. In a poll counting 100 incredibly hott females, 97/100 incredibly hott females said they did NOT like the hood scoop on the runner. 85 laughed because it was non-functional.
If I weren't such a good man I wouldn't be doing this... and sometime I wish I wasn't such an outstanding, generous, and giving human being...but I'm willing to sacrifice my 4runner and dignity, so that you don't have to live with your heinous mistake. I"m willing to take your hood with the scoop, preferably in 'natural white', and I'll give you my well-taken care of, babe-magnet hood.

The scoop I like was the one where the guy add the red lights like KIT from Night Rider. Now that's cool and would you call it functional?
Like em but not enuff to get one - if I did I would add the red moving lights.
Turky Rod Run this week in Daytona - 2nd best event of the year. Cool rides all over town. 5,000 cars at the speedway, rat rods in ormond, Bellair plaza daily free ride in.
