Do you notice a smoother ride when...?

I do about 70 miles a day of commuting and I noticed the last couple days that the ride was a LOT smoother with the 40# Yakima bike rack on the hitch. Has any one noticed this themselves? Any suggestions on how to smooth out the highway ride?

i thought the same... wanted to see if anyone here had tips. maybe its the slight shift in center of gravity or getting closer to the 50/50 weight split.

Does anyone know what the weight split is on the T4R v6 SE xreas?

I really don't think 40 lbs would make a difference. Has your tires changed recently in term of air pressure? You will feel a smoother ride with less air especially if you had more than 32 psi initially. Simple test, remove the rack and see what happens

Not true. Mine loves to be dirty!

In reality though the added weight does help due to the nature of the live rear axle. I always keep 60-80lbs of cargo in the back but if I take it out the back gets a bit jumpy.
