Does the Baxter filter adapter loosen up when you spin the filter off?

Your "hand tight" and mine are probably not the same.

So if the filter is on tight by me (or a shop), and I go to take it off by hand or filter wrench, does the adapter tend to loosen up?

I figure... $200 for the adapter...
Subtract $50 for the cost of the filter wrench and metal housing to replace the plastic = $150 for the Baxter. :flypig:

Someone else asked this recently. Here's what I said:

The adapter is tightened to a higher spec than the spin-on filter. So unless the oil filter is grossly over-tightened, the adapter won't move.

Well, I don't have any issue with the OE cartridge filter and plastic filter cap. Issues only arise when the procedure is done poorly, as unfortunately lots of dealer lube techs do.

My vehicles never see the dealer:eyebrows: unless it is something warranty related, or recall that is important.
They can keep their free oil changes too.

My '02 4R went in for warranty paint work on the hood.
It came back with a cigarette burn in the front bumper.
Entire power antenna assembly missing from fender.
And they damaged steering components to where you could turn the wheel from 9 to 3 pretty much, and still go straight and tried to deny it until I made a tech get in to road test with me driving.
