Does your 4x4 indicator take forever to come on?

So we have a ton of snow here, and this morning I threw the truck in 4x4. It went right in, and I took off, but it took the green indicator on the dash nearly a half mile to come on, and the whole time the 4 wheel drive was engaged and functioning. I thought it was weird since it usually comes on within about 10 seconds or so. Anyone elses truck do the same?

Yeah 10 seconds or so. Maybe it was just cold or getting old. At least the 4x4 works.

ya, I'm not too worried about it because it engages right away. I just assumed there was a correlation to the light coming on as soon as it's engaged. Oh wellski!

Sometimes I have to drive 20ft forward and then 20ft in reverse. I always do that to Disengage otherwise my light stays on for a bit.

There should be a sensor telling the ECU you are engaged maybe that sensor is going bad or loose. Im just guessing. Honestly wouldn't worry about it as long as its engaging and the light eventually comes on.

I have absoutely no issues with engagement or disengagement, or the light going off for that matter. It just takes a while to come on, even after the 4x4 is on.

edit: It sounds like all our trucks function a bit differently, haha. I'll just assume there's more than one way for it to work correctly, lol.

Mine never comes on. I assume the bulb is burnt out.
