Is it advisable to do an alignment immediately after installing taller coils or should you wait and drive for the truck for a week in order for the coils to settle and then perform an alignment?

This is a tricky question to answer. If you aren't loosening your LCA's, then no it is not immediately necessary. You can wait about 100 miles or so for things to settle. I drop my LCA's to make swapping the coils and shocks a 20 minute job. But I always mark the settings and put the eccentric adjusmtents back to how they were. Then once things settle I will get an alignment. If you do the LCA drop and don't mark things, then you should immediately get an alignment. Also of note, my local shop knows me quite well and only charges me $50 for a FIA.

spend the money and have it done immediately, and if you feel it needs it in a week do it again.
you can wear a ton of tread off the tires in a week if the alignment is far enough off. it could also potentially be dangerous to drive depending on HOW its off.

This is where the Firestone Lifetime Alignment is basically priceless.
150 bucks and you can get the truck aligned every 6 months or 6,000 miles. I take mine in at least once a year just get the front end looked at by a fresh set of eyes. A dealership alignment is 99 or more, so it's completely worth it.

Depends on how far out it is. When I used to do regular full on like pro comp and trail master lifts that relocated the lower control arms they were downright scary to drive after install. When I did new UCA's and 5100's 884's on my last second gen tacoma it was nowhere near as bad. I drove it about 100 miles to let everything settle then had it aligned. That shop and the one I took my last BMW too for an alignment after new springs/shocks specifically asked if I had driven it a few days for things to settle.

Why not just do a quick check and align it yourself when you install the lift? It's not rocket science.
