Dome festoon bulb

I bought a pack of the festoon bulbs from Amazon, they all fit good, except the dome. The prongs that hold the bulb are too close that it won't grip it in place. Does anyone else have that problem?

The ones I have are T10 31mm length

You're in the wrong section. I'm pretty sure you'll get a better response in the 5th gen section.

I recently replaced my interior LEDs with a set Fyre Flys... not sure of the exact length but I had a similar issue with you, the festoon I received was just a hair too big to fit properly. After repeated attempts to make it fit, two ends on the LED ended up bending inwards slightly which allowed me to get the bulb into place. It's not a secure fit, will fall out of place if I try to adjust it ... but the connection is being made & it's properly aimed so I just put the cover back on and it's been fine since.

I used a screwdriver to bend the spring loaded side of the socket/connector slightly. Push carefully as the metal bends fairly easily.

All dome bulbs I saw were 31mm.

Yes all are 31mm, but I think they are over the length bulbs I bought. By many 2mm. I hate to bend tabs and possible break them.

And at the end I go over how they are 29mm in the dome. But be careful about buying the exact same light bulb, it didn't match the others, so I bought a 6k instead.. Also there might be more 29mm festoon on eBay/Amazon now.

Some folks removed the whole dome light to make any adjustments in the bulb mount (instructions in that thread).

Yup. 31mm was too long for my dome lights (17 TRD OR). They fit fine in the cargo area, but I had to go with a 28mm/29mm for the dome.

I bought the JDM Astar bulbs. The festoon dome bulbs didn't fit like you said. I just bent the pins back a bit and they work fine.

The festoons are actually 29mm if memory serves. Check the LED swap threads in my sig below for more information if you're interested.

I know that people have both sanded the 31mm festoon ends to fit AND expanded the holding pins to fit with good results but I'm not sure if you want to get into that vs. just buying the correct size.
