Sig lines listing vehicles you used to own and sold, how much window tint you have, your Plasti-dipped LED floor mats, etc.

HEY! I used to own a 3rd Gen 4R with 14% tint on the front windows and 25% on the rear windows. And that was on top of the factory tint. Man, it was so cool with how dark it was. You could barely see the LED floor mats. But I plastidipped my door sill so they don't get scratched.

I hate people that ask about modifying a vehicle they haven't bought yet.
In general, broadly speaking...14-25 yr olds that already know the answer to the question they are about to ask and ask it anyway. "But I read on the internet...."

How about service writers that deal with customers before it gets to the Tech?

Oh the S$%^ I hear all day long and keep from my guys, or "why dose it cost $$ per hour, are you guys Attorneys or something":rockthrow:

It's just for people to learn what to say and what not to. The other day we had a customer complaining because we filled the oil 1/16 of an inch over the full line on the dip stick. And we got called every day for a week about it.

He should have took the extra 16th of an inch, seemed liked he needs it for being a real D...

That was you ??

Hey Joseph, not to be an *******, but you're getting paid to deal with ignorant customers. That's why they write your employer a check, and that's why your employer writes you a check. If they weren't ignorant, they'd do the work themselves and you'd be out of a job, so you might wanna show a little more gratitude to those jerks who keep coming to your garage. :thumb:

I will tell you what I hate about dealerships. If that helps. I hate how 3 days after I replaced the air filter and cabin filter, they tell my wife they need replaced when they do an oil change. Or how on my tundra they said the ball joints on my new camburg uniballs needed replaced because they were worn out.

I know this is not all techs at all dealerships but I just want the techs to know how consumers get f'd too.

I'd image that people get pissed off AT their mechanics MORE OFTEN than the mechanics get pissed AT them.

For one thing most shops, even private ones have a service manager or owner who handles talking to the customer.

Most customers only want the issue fixed and fixed right. They only get pissed when mechanics do a bad job. And just like any other profession that can happen.

So I don't really understand your point.

that's more the job of the service writer....
but yeh, there is some of that.

I think you would be surprised the level of STUPID some customers bring.

The thing is, this can be said with almost any job out there that requires human interaction. The older I get and the more people I encounter with, the more I am convinced that there are just a lot of stupid people out there.

My favorite is when a stupid customers clashes with a stupid mechanic (no offense you guys, I am not directing that to you mechanics on here, lol), I just sit back and watch because the conversation get's interesting real quick :snacker:
