door clips, "different topic" :)

Ok, so on my front doors, one of the panel clips doesn't make contact with the door, this is on the edge closest to the front, near the speaker. I believe it to be the speaker itself gets in the way. This creates a small gap which is not noticable unless you reach down and feel for it. Does anyone else have an issue such as this. It probably isn't a big deal, I just worry about other clips failing.

I got quite a bit of clips missing or broken all around my 4runner... especially on the plastic door sills.... the screws that go down in there just turn when i put them in. really annoying.

clips

You can do one of two things. The first one involves removing the whole door pannel, then spreading out the remaining clips you have left. The second would be buying some replacements form a parts store. Try any parts store that has a HELP section. It's not a service but the name brand of replacement parts. Worst case would be buying them from the dealer, but if you do buy new ones from the dealer I'd replace all of them so that you can get rid of any squeeks that you might be hearing from the pannels. I'm a car audio installer and this is normally what us guys at this shop do.

You don't have to get the exact same ones. As long as they are pretty close in diameter and the head will fit in the slot of the door panel then it will work. I think the ones I used were for Chrysler and they hold better than the originals too. For a box of 8 I think it was 2.99.
