I'm going to do this soon on my rear doors that have been damaged by my German Shepherd. I'd also appreciate it if anyone with experience would chime in.
Looking at the very vague parts diagrams, I'd imagine that the little spiky christmas tree fasteners would be enough to hold it in place. You'll probably fubar most of the old ones removing the old weathershield but I'd guess that that's OK because it looks like the new part comes with the fasteners. However.... don't throw the old seal away until you have the new one installed in case you damage a new fastener installing it.
I see some internet references to 3M superweatherstrip adhesive (which is great stuff) but with the spike fasteners, it would seem redundent.
