I'm bouncing out of this topic. You all are just a humongous lot of :toilet:

If I stay here any longer, I'm afraid I'll lose brain cells from how stupid you are.

Hopefully the new president sets things right for you all. No more alternative facts that lead absolute morons to cite communist Chinese propaganda.

I'm just going to leave this here. I hope you all die before you kill me and my family with the garbage that's spilling out of your mouths, both figuratively and literally.

N95 masks. Filters outside particles from entering the body. Dust, ash, etc. Doesn't filter viruses. Replace often as the chog
Surgical masks. Helps stop spittle from entering open wounds and surgical procedures. Doesn't filter viruses. Replace often as they retain moisture from breath.
Cloth masks. Similar to surgical masks but much less effective, but is now fashionable. Retains moisture from breath and holds / breeds bacteria. Can contaminate respiratory system of wearer.
WuFlu is here to stay. There will be new viruses. Are you going to wear masks and live in fear your whole life? If so, you are easily conditioned.

Lets try some logic.

If six feet works, why the need for masks?
If masks work, why the need for six feet?

If both work in combination, why the lockdown?
Careful!
:snacker:

Sorry, but not sorry.
I developed COPD at 24 due to September 11th 2001.
Perhaps some of you remember that day?

Just like people who "care" about the environment so much, yet they drive 19MPG 4Runners... Seems mighty hypocritical, no?

The CDC paper isn't very convincing. Reports from China (later contradicted by China). A single German who contacted a mildly symptomatic person. And one report from Singapore. We're a year into this and this is all the CDC can offer?

And for that, effective yesterday, we have to wear masks in family campsites in National Parks across the country. And when in a car alone, driving through a National Park. This isn't science, it's a cult.

The CDC contradicts their own studies.

CDC says masks ineffective.
Public Health Guidance for Community-Related Exposure | CDC
And again here.
Nonpharmaceutical Measures for Pandemic Influenza in Nonhealthcare Settings—Personal Protective and Environmental Measures - Volume 26, Number 5—May 2020 - Emerging Infectious Diseases journal - CDC

They had to correct this one that said 74% of those that were infected wore masks diligently, and only 3.9% infected when no masks worn.
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/pdfs/mm6936a5-H.pdf

I tend to like PROVEN FACTS. Not studies that have to be corrected.
Been down the Covid road early on. Symptoms = Tired, loss of smell and taste.
I wore a mask diligently, as did anyone I came in contact with and still came down with it.
Flu is much worse when I get it, and I get the vaccine yearly.

One test, two results.

It's about conditioning, not logic.
We are also told that the annual flu numbers are down because of masks and distancing. In the next breath Covud is still a problem because of lack of masks and distancing

Ha! That’s great!
Are you the voice of Foamy?

Yes, wearing a mask is a PIA. You don’t need them everywhere, just when near people. But if there’s a chance it will work and slow down the spread until the vaccinations take over, why not give it a try?

Enough people have resisted this simple task since last March and look at where the US is now: 4% of world population and ~25% of cases. And all the death and economic harm. Hospitals ICUs are clogged up, medical professionals are burnt out. Heaven forbid if you go on an outing in your 4Runner, get into a serious accident, go to a hospital and there’s no room for you.
Or a loved one has a heart attack and has to wait in the ambulance for many hours until there’s a hallway freed up.

Mask up. Don’t be a tender snowflake.

Hardly. Wear your mask.

HA! Wear your goddamn mask.

It is important to wear a mask, but all this hoopla about mask optimization would be better spent on promoting halfway decent mask wearing. None of that bullshit like people cutting a hole in it or even more common things like wearing it below your nose.

Nope. Not doing it.

It's a load of crap. Using a mask is like trying to catch mosquitos with a Cyclone (wire mesh) fence.

It's also brain washing.

I've been in hospitals during this.
Both were empty on all occasions.

When you get it with certain underlying conditions, they want to run a lot of tests. MRI / CT scan.

And I guess you missed the part about COPD from 9/11...
Masks make it really tough to not get dizzy/lightheaded.
I don't think you want me driving next to you or your family with a mask on.

You want to wear a mask, wear a mask.
You want to force me to wear a mask? What does that make you?
If I'm not wearing a mask and that scares you then you should stay away from me <cough, cough>.
I see less than 1% of people wearing ineffective masks correctly. Facial hair? Don't bother with a mask. No 360° seal? Don't bother. Nose exposed? Don't bother.
I wonder how many politicians invested in startup mask companies prior to mandating masks.
I guess it's all in what you're used to. I grew up in an area with one of the highest natural concentrations of anthrax. WuFlu ain't nuthin'.

OK, you are in the category where mask wearing is a problem. I guess you missed where I said you don’t need to wear a mask everywhere, just when around people. But with COPD, if you get covid what could be your prognosis?

If you have COPD you should stay in the house until you get your vaccinations

What do you mean "IF"?
I posted my text message on page 2.
One test, two results. How does that happen?

No, I didn't miss where you said anything.

Mother Nature has a way of "thinning the herd".
Contagions are one way.
The greater the population, the faster things spread and the more people die.

I have the COPD, not he, and stayed home for 40+ days when I had it.
Zero contact w/ anyone.

The rest is not directed to/at you...

But, alas, I am not afraid of my own shadow, so I carry on with life.
I wear a mask where I must, but I no longer go into stores where I would be inside for more than five minutes or so.

I *could* be on disability, but I carry my own weight. I am not a useless eater and enjoy doing what I do.
When I die, I die.
At least I am comfortable with what I have accomplished in life, and each day on this side of the sod is a good day.

Funny, we knew that day what was in the air.
I still have the *used* P100 HEPA cartridges in plastic bags somewhere.
Guess what, I still came down with something from down there.

"Biological particles:
This type of cartridges helps prevent the inhalation of certain airborne biological particles like mold, Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Tubercle bacillus Koch) the main causative agent of tuberculosis, pandemic flues (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, it cannot eliminate the risk of contracting infection, illness or disease. Of course, whenever one has to protect himself only from biological particles, one should definitely opt for something else than this equipment. P100 cartridges are by design made for workers who must protect themselves from biological particles on top of being protected from gases, vapours and airborne particles."

WHO Information Notice for IVD Users 2020/05

WHO Information Notice for IVD Users 2020/05
Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2
20 January 2021 Medical product alert
Geneva
Reading time: 1 min (370 words)

Español

Product type: Nucleic acid testing (NAT) technologies that use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of SARS-CoV-2

Date: 13 January 2021

WHO-identifier: 2020/5, version 2

Target audience: laboratory professionals and users of IVDs.

Purpose of this notice: clarify information previously provided by WHO. This notice supersedes WHO Information Notice for In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device (IVD) Users 2020/05 version 1, issued 14 December 2020.

Description of the problem: WHO requests users to follow the instructions for use (IFU) when interpreting results for specimens tested using PCR methodology.

Users of IVDs must read and follow the IFU carefully to determine if manual adjustment of the PCR positivity threshold is recommended by the manufacturer.

WHO guidance Diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2 states that careful interpretation of weak positive results is needed (1). The cycle threshold (Ct) needed to detect virus is inversely proportional to the patient’s viral load. Where test results do not correspond with the clinical presentation, a new specimen should be taken and retested using the same or different NAT technology.

WHO reminds IVD users that disease prevalence alters the predictive value of test results; as disease prevalence decreases, the risk of false positive increases (2). This means that the probability that a person who has a positive result (SARS-CoV-2 detected) is truly infected with SARS-CoV-2 decreases as prevalence decreases, irrespective of the claimed specificity.

Most PCR assays are indicated as an aid for diagnosis, therefore, health care providers must consider any result in combination with timing of sampling, specimen type, assay specifics, clinical observations, patient history, confirmed status of any contacts, and epidemiological information.

Actions to be taken by IVD users:

Please read carefully the IFU in its entirety.
Contact your local representative if there is any aspect of the IFU that is unclear to you.
Check the IFU for each incoming consignment to detect any changes to the IFU.
Provide the Ct value in the report to the requesting health care provider.

Real disease, fake pandemic.

If you read what WHO released on Jan 20, 2021, as Biden was becoming president, it says having a single positive Covid test does not mean you have Covid, need to have another confirming test.

That means if you were told you had one test, and you had NO symptoms, but the test was positive, now that means you do not have Covid.

This means no asymptomatic transmission as that no longer exists.

This also means wearing masks is a bunch of BS.

This also means that the Covid numbers are wildly inflated.

Wife went to see our Doctor yesterday and asked him what he though about the WHO new guidelines.

She was told:

"I am not allowed to comment about that at this time."

I think that right there is very alarming and speaks VOLUMES about all the bullshit we have been fed over the last ten months.

My guess is the lawsuits will start flying when this starts to really get out in the news.
