got a v6-99 4r with 140k, had a little vibration at highway speeds that was coming from the rear end, nothing too bad but it was driving me crazy. so my mechanic took the drive shaft to a machine shop for a balance, the guy at the machine shop says the driveshaft had rubber on the inside that was wore out. my mech told me he watched the driveshaft on the machine and he could see the vibration in it. anyone know what the guy is talking about when he says there is rubber inside the drivehsaft, i have never heard of this. thanks

got the rebuilt driveshaft back on and the mechanic told me it was still vibrating starting at about 60 mph, if the drivehsaft is not the problem, what could be causing this?

Could be the balancing on the tires, worn out suspension components/steering components, etc. Maybe start with having the tires checked and balanced since it's cheap and easy. The other routes start to get more expensive.

the tires are brand new and were road forced balanced on the hunter machine, when the tires were unbalanced before i hand shake in the wheel, the wheel is fine now
