driveshaft difference

Is there a difference in rear driveshafts from an SR5 and limited 4wd?Thinking about picking up another rear drive shaft but was told today that only a 99 or 2000 out of a limited will work in my 99 limited. Anybody swapped out their driveshaft?

'99/'00 Limited and all '01/'02's have the same driveshafts. The multi-mode transfer case is longer than the standard j-shift case and the earlier push-button limited case (non-multi-mode).

I think the drive shaft in a J-shifter type transfer case is longer than the multimode model. The center diff lock actuator in this multimode is taking some room so the drive shaft is short.
