Hey Guys,
Prepping for a 3000 mile road trip and want to replace the drive shaft fluids. Have had the truck for ten months now and have put 10K on it! Everything seems good with the drive shaft except for a light noise under acceleration and a strange vibration sound I get at 2000 and 2500 rpm when cold.
Anyway, found this site. Is it really this cut and dry?
4Runners.org - Changing Your Front, Rear, Tranny & Transfer Case Fluids
What special tools will I need and what are good/best fluids to pick up at Autozone, Pepboys or Orileys? I don't really want to add synthetic to the rear Diff as I heard it can cause the rear seals to leak?
I know that the fluids wont be the remedy for the vibration sounds but at least the rig will have new fluids. Still searching for these vibrations. I have also lubed the drive shaft.
Thanks in advance,
Mason
