Drivetrain Bind: SOMEONE FIX IT.

I didn't watch the video but it says it's a limited which means it has a center diff (not a transfer case) which should not bind if it's not locked. User error or are they really complaining that it locks when they lock it?

Edit - I will watch the video, just not while laying in bed surfing the web on my tablet next to my happily sleeping wife lol

I don't get at all what they are saying... it honestly sounds like they have no idea what they are doing and the fact they are just pointing the camera at the shifter doesn't help either. Gotta love how they disabled the comments because they knew they were idiots.

I would leave a comment on the Discussion section of his user name correcting him, but I don't have the time to explain it all.

Basically it looks like this guy has no experience with a true 4WD system and his only experience is based around AWD it seems based on his video.

Well, just for the sake of accuracy, being a Limited, it has a differential IN the transfer case. As opposed to the 5th gen SR5 and Trail which don't have a differential in their transfer cases.

But yes, they locked the differential in the transfer case, and are complaining about the resulting driveline bind. Yes, they are clueless.

Right because it needs to spin in the open position on road, but CAN be locked for off road duty where you want both shafts spinning at the same rate--I honestly cringed when I watched that video... and can see why GM dropped the low range and center locker from their 4WD Denalis.
