Driving with rear window open

Hello

I'm thinking about buying a 4Runner trail edition - Canada / Northern Ontario.
Is it possible to load a 10' kayak trough the rear window and drive without getting the exhaust fumes into the car?
The kayak width is 29.5" and the height is 17"

Not unless you either reroute the exhaust out the side or put the kayak on the roof and keep the window closed. :nono:

I used to always drive with the rear window open--it helped smooth the airflow from my side window and lessen the wind roar. I never had an issue with exhaust, probably because the airflow from the front wouldn't allow it to flow forward. All of my exhausts always exited the side behind the rear wheels, for the record. Usually it's the ones with rear-exiting pipes that have problems.

Same here, I always (weather permitting) drive with the rear window open and never have exhaust fumes.

I drive with the rear window open, but not without other windows or sunroof also open. I had a crew cab Ford pickup with a power rear slider. The owners manual warned about driving with the rear slider open by itself.

I get some exhaust in the cab if I leave the rear window down by itself

I don't get exhaust in the cabin if I'm light on the throttle, which is probably how you'll be driving with a kayak hanging out the back
