Drove a 4Runner For the first Time Today

Copying this from another thread to get a little more visibility.

So finally got to drive the TRD premium on Monday. Some of my first takeaways were that it felt so much bigger than my old BMW (which is not a bad thing) even though it's only a few inches bigger in each dimension. The model I drove was quite near as basic as it gets with the TRD premium with a few small additions. It had the TRD shift knob, and TRD floor mats as well as KDSS. Other than that, no bells and whistles. The Spec sheet had the MSRP at $43,684 However the dealer was quoting me $38,716.

Before he drove the vehicle away he gave me what I expected....trying to get me to commit right then. Trying to entice me saying the dealer was doing an additional 3 years of maintenance, as well as he was still willing to work some numbers my way.

If I could make any changes to the vehicle (in order of importance) it would be swapping out the front grill for the Pro grill, Sunroof, and TRD wheels. Now all these things I know cost money, so I need to find comparables and see what people have been paying for the vehicle as well as these options.

Bottom line, great vehicle, would love to get it but would like to be just a little happier with the options.

I call my situation "delayed enjoyment" because at this moment I have to wait for a bureaucrat to walk over to a printer somewhere and print me a temp tag and mail it so they dont get the Wuhan Flu. I have talked to a number of them and they cant do this. It must be very complicated and therefor would require a 4 week training course or something. There is a lot more to this but I'd rather not go into it right now.

You are in the same boat for private sales as well.

You can buy new cars in NJ as of last week. On-line only and the dealer can now print out temp tags for cars they sell. This started up last week. They shut that system down before because as we all know auto dealerships are not important and are a serious source of disease transmission. Taking a bus is a lot more sanitary and there is a lot lower possibility of getting the Wuhan flu taking public transportation. (sarcasm) wtf?

I mean Home Depot, CostCo, the banks, restaurants etc. all open but the DMV people... far too dangerous for them to come in and far too dangerous for me to be there apparently.

After my experience with this I am going dedicate a lot of time campaigning Trump and for a Republican Governor in New Jersey

I have a good friend who lives in El Segundo. He wants to take a motorcycle trip to Alaska and I want to go to Greenland and Iceland by way of Canada. Could do both in a 4Runner.

Don't know about Greenland but good luck with driving to Iceland. Better look at a map.....

So, now on to the Husky Liner short time review.

Pros:
Covers the dead pedal area all the way up
Covers the area under the gas pedal way up
Price is lower than Weather Tech

Cons:
The Husky material reminds me of garbage can plastic in the way it sounds and feels.
I prefer Weather Techs material that my wife’s car has.
