Durango Catches Fire at DC Cherry Blossom Parade

Gang,

I couldn't resist. Saw this on the news yesterday and found it on the Tube.

A brand new 2011 Dodge Durango caught fire at the DC Cherry Blossom Parade. It caught fire while pulling a float for the Parade. Parade was delayed for 20 min. until the Fire Department could put it out.

i thought it was kind of funny to see the new durango commercials, about how it's been gone for a few years learning new things.

not the best publicity for dodge.

Also, if you watched the whole video, i thought it was kind of random for that guy to be using a dolly carrying those boxes, what the heck is he doing there? hahaha

I went through a brief period where I got frustrated waiting for my 4Runner, and started to (briefly) think about the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer, and Durango. Then I saw that commercial where they said it was learning to drive on the roads of Europe and said, "I think I'll stick with the 4Runner, which learned to drive kicking ass in the baja races of the North American deserts!"

Not surprised at all- what else can u expect from a Dodge?
Plus I hate the look with the stupid grill!

I imagine a 4Runner would meet a similar demise.

Towing at idle speed for long periods of time with no air moving over the radiator must be hell on a mid-sized SUV.
