Dynamat question!!!

I have a question for all of you who have added sysytems to your 4runners:

For those of you who have used Dynamat, Fatmat, Cascade, Brown Bread, etc... Did you notice a big diferrence in the level of outside noise? Did it really help all that much to make the runner quieter?

What was the most significant part to this? The doors? The floors? Side panels? Headliner? Cargo area?

I want to get the most out of most new sound system, but I want to do what will help the most. I want to know where performance meets the laws of diminishing returns.

Thanks guys!!!

You'll notice if the cargo area and the doors are done. The rest is up to you on how much your willing to pay for that stuff, but newer trucks are a little better in the type of materials used these days in insolating. Its always nice to have but I think of all the installs I have done and seen people are looking for studio like sounds and not realy heavy hitters if you know what I mean.
So if you sing like Mariah Carey and/or able to lay beats like Dr. Dre your not going notice too much on quality of sound unless you running all high end stuff. But if money no object use it....
.......peace.........

raamatted everything except the ceiling, doubled up on most of the floor, outer door shell, cut tin sheets to cover holes in the inner shell, rammated that too.

huge difference. i can turn up my system loud and people outside will be under the impression that i have a small system....

roadnoise is prettymuch gone, only thing i wish i had were thicker windows...wind noise is really the main thing i hear

i think the floorboards were the biggest help for me

i got 2 62sqft rolls at 110 each

ebay is great place to pick up Dynamat or Fatmat. I'm in process of doing the doors right now. It's very time consuming, mostly because I'm too lazy to figure out how to completely disassemble the inside door panel from the door and I'm working around a dangling panel.

Does anyone have pics/info on how to take the 2 cables and the connector-less long yellow/red wires (safely) off of the panel?

I've used Brown bread in my previous car.. and wow did it ever make a difference. Everything was quite and since I put extra padding around the wheel wells, it was dead quiet.

I recommend this stuff. Brown Bread.
