E locker Connector Question

I just picked up an e locker diff that I'm planning on retrofitting into my axle :frog:. I was looking over the diff and I'm not sure if the connector on the actual diff housing is broken or not. The picture below shows what mine looks like. The second picture shows what I would have expected it to look like.

If mine is broken, can it be fixed somehow. Looks like there is a big nut that maybe goes over the connecter and everything is fine. Thanks for your help.

Hmmm, that first one looks like a manual locker. What did it come from?

I like the simplicity of it. It looks like you could hook that up to a second e-brake handle like dous has.

And I think that it was a cable system made by downey. I'm not sure but I don't think they were very successful.
 
All that plug does it indicate whether the differential is OPEN or Locked.

IF you are going to wire it yourself you can do without even messing with it, but you can use it to operate an LED that could indicate whether or not the rear end has locked.

Or you could easily just solder your wires straight to those prongs

I'd just solder wire to it and shrink wrap over it... If 'you're retrofitting the elocker I'm guessing you're retrofitting the wiring too. It's way easier than dealing with the cpu and stuff.
 
The quickest cheapest fix would crimp on two small female blade-style connectors wired to an indicator light and call it a day. Soldering would be the best if you're capable.

That same style switch is used on the front diff and mine also broke during shipping. You do know your missing the elocker motor itself right?
 
Haha ya. I've got the motor. Had them ship it separately it looks like it's ready to work. Just need to bench test, whip up wiring and modify the axle
 
best mod iv ever done to my 93runner love it.pain to wire,,,,,wright atleast.but asome mod and switch only cost 21 dollers at dealer id replace it
 
Figured I would post some part numbers to help people out in the future. From what I can this part is a transfer case indicator switch.

Toyota Part Number: 84222-12010

Dorman: 600-554

Its also possible that a reverse light switch that goes into the transmission will also work. Haven't verified any of this information but if I do decide to go this route I will update the information.
 
I'm not sure if that's the right part.. Unless the plug on the diff is the same exact plug for the transfer case indicator. I'm guessing they both use the same concept I just don't know if they're the exact same plug. If I were you I'd put some metal female wire clamps on them, clamp the wire in them and solder it all together covering it with shrink wrap. Are you retrofitting the wiring? I did a write-up on it some time ago when I did mine.

Ya I'm planning on following your wiring. Everything I have found online points to that part. The reason I might want to get the part is because I want to keep at least one side of the harness stock. I'm going to try and get the guy that I bought the diff from to pay for the part. We will see what happens.
 
Still waiting for the switch to arrive but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the low range offroad e-locker motor skid? Thinking about picking one up but just want to make sure it is as good as the inchworm skid or the allpro skid. Thanks
