East Coast Beach/Moutain Camping Vacation Ideas

Looking for vacation ideas. This summer would like to take a week of vacation on the east coast between MD and NC someplace. Want to beach camp part of the week and other part of week stay in a state or national forest. Example would be maybe NC beach and then Uwharrie National Forest.

Checked Assateague Island in MD and they are basically booked up.

So any ideas would be welcome.

It may be a little far inland for what you are looking for, but the Adirondacks are an amazing place to spent a little time.

Tent camp or RV camp?
Lots of places to camp in the Mon NF, Canaan Valley area is great.

Check the VA side of Assateague Island as well. On the way down the to the beach you can stop by the Green Ridge State Park, which has some off-road trails.

We camp twice/year on the Maryland side, we'll be there the week after Memorial Day.

Agreed. South Core banks are where it's at IMO
