EBC brakes pads/rotors

Anyone have any experience with EBC? They were actually recommended to me by a dealer as an upgrade over stock. I usually don't go messing with non OEM parts, but the brakes on my 2007 4Runner suck, and it's not just my driving.....this is my sixth 4Runner going all the way back to 1985. Brake jobs last about 12 months, then the warping starts again. That's how I wound up with EBC. Hopefully they really are an upgrade since I ordered rotors for the front and pads all the around.

I just completed a complete brake redo with EBC pads and rotors on all 4 corners. Love it so far, only have about 1500 miles on them so time will tell if they last on the 4R.

I had the rotors on my WJ Grand Cherokee (which are notorious for warping rotors) and they lasted 30k miles and I sold it when they were still going strong.

Went with sport drilled/slotted and GreenStuff 6000 pads.

I ran the ebc greenstuff 6000. They produce a little more brake dust but they grab hard. Double the price of the best parts store brake pads. I will buy them again, British made!!!

Thanks guys, good to hear. EBC recommended the "yellow stuff" for pads and the rotors I got are just the OEM replacement. Didn't really see the need for slotted or drilled rotors. Hopefully theis setup will last longer!

I have the EBC green stuff pads and slotted (not drilled) rotors. I was very happy with em for a while, but it sounds like my front brakes are grinding now. They never squealed like most pads I've had in the past that were going bad.

I think I got 30-40k miles out of em but I just bought cheaper front rotors and pads this time. The new pads definitely have squealers, I'm anxious to see if the green stuff pads still have their squealers or why they've started grinding but never squealed.

My caliper(s) may or may not be stuck as well so that could heavily influence the increased wear. I will find out soon enough when I change em.

Ran ebc red stuff on my 06 GTI. They were awesome.

I put ebc pads on my wifes car and they were noisy and really dusty. Wheels turned black with brake dust in a weeks time. I cant remember which line of ebc pads they were but it was horrible. It was probably the basic street pads. I would assume the more expensive ebc line are better but ive never tried them.

I have switched to akebono premium ceramic pads on all of our cars and they're fantastic. Zero dust and quite. I pair them up with centric rotors and find this combo to be the best value. Plus i can get them in 2 days from amazon.

For siezed calipers i replaced with napa rebuilds. Very cost effective and they supposedly use toyota cores. Plus lifetime warranty.

EBC rotors are good to go, the greenstuff pads work great but wear out very very fast and feel very spongy to me.

ebc 6000 pads are a good upgrade from stock, but also dusty. try the 7000 for the fronts, i also did a full yellow pad front and rear setup, they are good, it makes the truck stop and its heavy duty rated, but its alot more dustier, i gave up on ebc pad setup and swaped over to hawk lts pads. seems to be better with my stoptech sloted rotors now. i was using the cheap brakemotive sloted drilled rotors, maybe thats the leading cause of more brake dust and some uneven pad wear, one side of pad was more worn, this was using those rotors and only doing pad swaps.
