ECT power???

hey so i feel stupid but i do not have an owners maunual..what does the etc power button do? help me out please

ECT = Electronic Control Transmission

My understanding is that in power mode it raises the shift points to give you max. power but will obviously cut down your MPG

Where in Ohio do you live? I lived in Canton for 5 years, now I live in sunny Albuquerque.

thats exactly what it is. it raises shift points based on the based on engine vacuum, rpm, and throttle position. it helps built speed but wastes a little more gas.

i live 30 mins south of cleveland in oberlin. oh ok..so is that why i cant get it to sped up at all past 70 even floored it doesnt always shoot the rpm up

Exactly, it lets the trans wind out farther before shifting.
