ECU Reset - How Long Does It Take?

I pulled my negative battery cable to reset after getting some codes and doing some fixes. This was yesterday and I've driven quite a lot and did some steps found on the web that were said to speed up the process but I still get the "not ready" on my ScanGauge. How long should it take?

Takes a set number of miles. It isn't so much a reset as the ecu emission system requires a long enough running trend to get data. Your car makes decisions on how to control the combustion cycle based on instant, short term and long term trend data.

It is also designed to prevent some gaming of the emission test

Not sure how many miles or on/off cycles is required.

Quote from the haynes techbook OBDII manual.

" A Typical OBD-II drive cycle consists of:
1. Cold start(coolant below 122 degrees F.
2. Five to eight-minute warm up and idle.
3. First acceleration to 55mph at half throttle with the air conditioning turned off.
4. First steady cruise at 55mph for three minutes.
5. First deceleration to 20mph.
6. Second accel, this time at 3/4 throttle.
7. Second steady cruise at 60mph for five minutes.
8. Second deceleration(without applying the clutch or brake pedal)."

I guess I'll just have to be patient and just drive with all the lights until it registers.
