engine dies when brake is pushed

I have an 84 4runner with a 22r engine. It started dieing on me when I come to a stop. After many hours of troubleshooting I have found that when I push on the brake it dies. It does not matter if it is cold or hot. It only does it when I push on the brake. It is not fuel injected like the previous post. Could it still be an Idle problem. It was running just fine then it started having this problem. I would appreciate any help.

Might try looking at/ replacing vacuum hoses.

does it happen when you have the lights on..
it could be the alternator

sounds to me like you may have a bad power brake booster. does it matter if its in park or drive. if it happens all the time plug the vacuum line to the power brake booster and if it goes away the booster is bad.
