Engine swap

Has anyone done a 350 swap recently? I have been unable to resolve my 93 4Runner's issues and have done some reading on a 350 swap a guy did a couple years ago. In the thread, one guy replied that had he used a Chevy drivetrain instead of an adapter to the Toyota 5 speed, he could have saved some time and money.

Does anyone know what Chevy transmission, etc. would be used for that application?

Thanks.

im getting ready to do the 350 swap on my project 4runner and from what i read you use the turbo350 or any other tranny just a matter of making crossmembers im going to use the bell housing adapter and my stock 5 speed

^This. The nice thing about chevy is that there a tons of options. Yout going to have to make a new crossmember mount no matter what you do.

Maybe not, depends on how you do it. I have a feeling with the 350 in there youll want to push it as far back as you can to make room for the radiator.

Good thought. I guess ill find out when i put it in. For what i have found as far as kits and additional parts recommended to go with them i haven't seen new cross members but there's only one way to find out.:yo:
