Engineer Pass, Colorado

It has been awhile since I posted here, but I wanted to share a couple images that I captured in July. As a part time landscape photographer I depend on my 4Runner to get me to places the allow me to capture the beauty of my state (as well as others). I spend a week in the San Juan Mountains driving some of the finest 4 wheel drive roads in the state -- as far as scenery goes. Of course the 4runner excels on these types of roads and I was rewarded with some awesome conditions.

We did the Alpine Loop from Silverton back in mid-July as well. It was actually the first "wheeling" trip with my new-to-me 07.

Awesome place, I definitely want to go back there after I get a bit of lift and maybe some better skid plates.

Thanks everyone! The Alpine Loop is definitely a great drive, I've done it a few times with a couple different vehicles. I have a pretty standard amount of lift and it does the trick on most of the trails in the San Juans. I went up there before I got new rubber and I could definitely tell that bald tires weren't as good for wheeling -- so I actually had to use 4wd a lot more than usual. If you don't have this book already, I strongly recommend picking it up. It opens up a different part of the state not accessible to everyone:
