Planning to install Mightytacomaman's cam gears this Sat and wanted to post this for anyone that is going to do same upgrade.
Apparently cam gear bolts are a pain to loosen/torque due to clearance between cam bolt and engine head, so socket won't fit therefore I have to purchase torque adapter to torque bolts after installing new gears. Like this one.
Benz Engine Fixing Screws Wrench (17MM) by JTC 4694, Tools & Equipment - Amazon Canada
So here is a video explaining how to use torque adapters correctly.
How to use an crowfoot or extension adapter on a torque wrench WITHOUT MATH - YouTube
It was still a 2 man job to loosen/torque that cam bolt. I blew bunch of crow foot adapters in my mechanic days by doing exactly this stupid cam bolt.how have i never seen these before, I've been using crows feet forever and they are a ****ing pain
I ordered a set of these and have since sold my T4R.
For sale. Brand new in packaging from mightytacoman.
Send me a message if you’re interested
Thanks
What's the difference between these and the URD one?
no difference, URD originally sold it as part of the UCON EMS package. Mightytacoman decided to machine the same and offer it separately with great results. Although, URD does sell them separately now.
