I have a 3rz with an exhaust leak. I replaced the manifold (with non OEM), thinking the OEM had cracked. All was quiet but then I started getting a bad leak where the manifold joins the downpipe: there are two circular washer-like gaskets that slip in there.
I took it apart and one round washer/gasket was gone, and the other was melted/deformed. No wonder it was leaking! So I put a second set in (non OEM but good brand) and all was quiet. For a bit. Then it began to roar. Took it apart: one circular crush washer/gasket was gone again! And the other deformed.
So I'm going to put in OEM gaskets this time, and use some locktight on the bolts.
This seems so odd. The manifold is secure (I think!), as is the exhaust pipe.
