Ive got a Borla cat back exhaust with about 30k miles on it. This was on my 98 runner. Its pretty much comprable to the TRD exhaust without its marketing. I'll be posting it up for slae soon in the following weeks. Ive also got a K&N intake if youre looking for one as well. PM if youre interested.

My setup is 97 SR5, 1st Gen TRD S/C, MagnaFlow highflow catalytic converter and full Borla cat-back exhaust. I absolutely love it...from young and old I get plenty of positive comments on how good it sounds.

x2 on the borla minics the TRD cat-back at about half the cost. Having said that, Sparks Toyota is having a GREAT sale on the TRD full cat-back. Check Amazon for the Borla cat-back

Hope this helps........regards 8sm

i would shy away from flowmaster, they make good stuff i just dont like the sound, its kinda ratty or riced out sounding not a good healthy sound imo. i have a magnaflow exhaust and love it, its throaty enough for me, but not so loud that the wife hates it.

I think a flow-through design would benefit you since you have the supercharger to give you boost pressure. So i say the magnaflow.
i forget, what is the boost you get on the trd supercharger? is it a 1st or 2nd gen?

ya i got magnaflows on all 3 of my rigs if your going s/c id step up to 2.50'' pipe with headers

might want to get a second choice just in case. there is a thread going on Magnaflow not being up to par like they used to be.

I have no experience, personally with my 4r and one, but recently I think they are having quality issues.

I did a Dynomax muffler by Walker. its ok. nothing to bag about but was decently priced at $73 or so

My '02 came with a Magnaflow on it and it sounds like ricey, droney dinosaur farts. I hate it. My parents say it sounds like I'm pulling up in a boat when I visit them. I can't wait to get an OEM muffler put back on, or at least a quiet one.

Well today I build a set of headers and got a high flow cat still can't decide on muffler the super charger is a 2 gen trd but its got a 12 pound pulley on it. I'm looking for something loud that will sound mean and I gotta find a good lift kit for it is like three inches or more on that

that's a mighty heavy pulley ;) There is no pulley that will produce 12lbs with the TRD supercharger, the 2.2 gives you about 1lb over the stock pulley, and the 2.1 gives you about 1lb extra over the 2.2, you probably will be getting at most 9-9.5lb boost. I have the 2.2 and URD complete fuel upgrade and get roughly 9lb max reading on my boost gauge.

With the URD 2.2 pulley the highest I have logged is 9.1.

I run the Trd catback exhaust and love it.

Ditch your kn intake and deckplate/isr your stock intake.

For your exhaust, I would be more worried about fuel delivery than sound man... Make sure your supercharger is running right before you start making it "sound mean."

no s/c but I tried flowmaster then switched to magnaflow, have a flowmaster cat that adds some wickedness but I recommend magnaflow!
