Both my left and right manifold is cracked and I need to replace them. Unfortunately this was found well past my ext. warranty so I have to pay for it. I've been trying to come up with a parts list and have been having a bit of difficulty. I know I need the manifold and gaskets. Since I lived in PA for so long and due to rust, I would plan on replacing any and all bolts removed as well. Partznet shows some parts but since I haven't done this before I am a bit confused as to what COULD be needed on top of the expected stuff. Is there anyone who has already come up with a list or could easily?
One local shop out here wanted $2000 just for parts which from what I can see is WAY overpriced. They also would not let me purchase the parts and bring them in for them to install.
Another question - short of concerns of the bolts breaking in the header, how difficult is this project? Is it something I can attempt myself or something I should not bother? Right now my truck is garaged and not being driven (due to my job and traveling a lot) so I don't mind working on it.
