Exhaust rubbing against heat shield stud

I have a MagnaFlow exhaust and started noticing a rubbing noise either on bumpy roads, when the exhaust gets very hot (3+ hours of continuous driving), or in certain gears/RPMs. I thought it was the hangars so I sprayed some silicone lubricant on there but it still heard it. After a second look, I realized the exhaust pipe, the part that goes over the axle, is EXTREMELY close to the stud that holds up the heat shield and rubs against it, creating a screeching metal on metal noise. It get very annoying.

I tried moving/twisting the pipe to get more clearance but it barely moved.

A) has anyone had this issue? B) how did you fix it? Can I cut the stud shorter? Can I put a rubber cap on it? A quick search yielded zero results.

I put a Borla muffler on mine and have plenty of clearance by the stud for the heat shield. I did have to bend the shield a little bit but that's all. I don't see that trimming the stud could hurt anything but don't put rubber on it because it would melt. Look to make sure all the hangers on the muffler and tail pipe are correctly attached and located. I guess you could probably get a universal type hanger from an auto parts store and figure out a place to mount it where it would move the pipe away from the stud. I hope you figure it out, that's the kind of thing that would bother the hell out of me!
