I have a '96 3.4 V6 4 runner with 355,000 km's whooo hooo !
Had the vehicle for almost 6 months and it's a champ. I had it in the garage for new timing belt and water pump as the one that was one it had last been changed at 108,000 k. Engine check light was on which revealed it was the O2 sensor.
I ran the Torque pro OBD2 and it confirms the downstream O2 sensor is bad and also gives me a cylinder 5 misfire with cylinder 2 a pending misfire, could these misfires be due to the O2 being bad ?
Wondering whether to change the plugs and wires as a matter of course. Then look at injectors as being a possible cause.
The truck runs great though ! I thought there was a misfire a few weeks ago at idle, but it drives really smoothly without a shudder or anything.
