I agree. Mine is also Desert Dune Metallic and I have grown to love it. It looks really clean and shiny even when I haven't washed it in awhile. I was looking for one in black but now thinking back I am glad I didn't get it because I would end up washing it every weekend. Desert Dune Metallic ALL THE WAY!!!

Black Black Black... I love it.. but you have to be committed to cleaning it... all the time.. after every lil drizzle and all... I originally was looking for a Silver one then found my Black runner and fell in love!

I saw a 4Runner around here with that color and I thought it was painted that way. It also had the gold package lol :bash:
I hope the person who drives that is female...

I'm sorry you had to see it. It's only the 2nd one this color I've ever seen in person. It doesn't look any better in person either.

Good point Tom, silver always looks clean even when its dirty. That mean less time washing the runner and more time enjoying it.
Yea no kidding Rock, if I had seen it on a trail with a lift and some 33s and the whole nine, I puke too. I would have told the guy to spend some money on a paint job first.

Only a woman would want a Lavender 4runner.
Lavender Steel Metallic owner here, can confirm this statement is not true. I have three kids and a beard.
The color name was changed to Cool Steel Metallic for the last year it was available (97-98). It's awesome. There are loads of folks who love this rare color.

By far my favorite, I have only seen one ever. Funny thing is my wife started nannying for a family and the DAD OWNS THAT 4RUNNER.
Here's the Lavender Steel, it's a bit feminine but not as bad as the baby blue ones:

I flipping love Stellar Blue Pearl. Especially an '01-02 Limited with silver cladding, like what Surf Runner started with.
They look mean when built, but can also stay perfectly stock, running boards included.
