What restaurant bar or dive in your area makes a killer sandwich? Descriptions encouraged.

There's a bar near me called Olde Mohawk in German Village and they offer a "Mother Mohawk."

Grilled roast beef and homemade chicken salad, topped with swiss cheese on marble rye bread. served with a side of caraway horseradish sauce.

I crave it.

Good cuz Sandy's Tavern in Richfield MN has some of the best burgers here locally. Their specialty burger is the Sandy's Sizzler with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese, sautéed onions, just the right amount of artery clogging grease, and most importantly toasted buns. I usually get a loaded mushroom Swiss with bacon. If you've ever heard of or eaten a juicy Lucy these burgers are by far better. Great bar and a total hole in the wall.

The Red Hook Special is my favorite. Authentic italian with the wood paneled walls and signature Mafia pics on the walls (both real and imagined).

Its basically a Mexican sandwich.

My favorite place is Los Reyes de la Torta( the kings of the torta)

Used to live in Hattiesburg, MS--restaurant there called Keg & Barrel. Probably have something like 40-50 beers most of which are on tap--they have a chicken club sandwich that I still miss. Fried chicken tenders, griddle-fried ham, thick cut bacon, provolone cheese, and a spicy garlic mayo on a jalapeno cheddar bun. It's perfection.

That restaurant is absolute heaven.

I'm in love with the Cleveland Cheesesteak at The Melt Bar and Grilled. First had it in Cleveland Heights and have also ordered it once they've opened restaurants here in Columbus.

Homemade bread, braised beef brisket, grilled onions/peppers/mushrooms, provolone served with a Rosemary Garlic Aioli. F@%king AMAZING.

I'm also a big fan of Mumma Christie's Roast Beef sandwich in West Ossipee, NH. And the Chicken Club at Sofia's Pizza Parlor in Cornish, ME.

theres some great spots here in the PHX area. One of them, Los Reyes de la Torta ,was on that show man vs food. They are one of the best in the valley here.

I've been to matt's many times and I do like there juicy Lucy better than 5/8 bar but sandys just makes a better burger overall

I would say Jenny's Dinner's classic cheeseburger, as they invented the cheese burger and the fried pickle - but alas, they closed shop.
