Feeler: Group Buy for Baja Racks

Hello all,

I've recently reached out to Baja Racks for a potential group buy for their products. Before I get started into this though, I wanted to reach out to forum members to see if there was any interest out there. Obviously, can't do a group buy without a group.... So just wanted to throw this out there and with the proper amount of interest, hopefully get some traction on this.

Since there haven't been any talk of actual numbers yet, I can't say exactly how much discount we are looking at. To give you an idea though, Baja Racks did do a group buy last year on TW and the discount was 15% off. So I would imagine something in that ballpark.

Feel free to respond with comments, but if you have interest, please use the poll as I will be using that as the gauge.

Definitely interested and on my list.

Though I am waiting to see how fast they can roll out the SPY lighting systems for the other platforms other than the FJ. The last correspondence I had with John at BajaRack (March) he said they were working to get the SPY lighting racks out for the Jeep JK crowd and that the 5th gen 4runner was in the next batch of platforms they were going to work on.

That being said, John mentioned we will be able to retrofit the SPY system to the existing basket style racks.

I'm mildly interested....I'm more interested in the Gobi Rack specifically for the Ladder as well. Does the Gobi Ladder mount to the Baja Rack? I like the Baja Rack's price much better....

The gobi ladder attaches to the tailgate. It is independent of the roof rack and can be purchased and installed separately. I know there are some forum members that run that combo, but not sure with exactly which specific Baja Rack. Here's a mention of it.

You can purchase the ladder from an official vendor here for $215 shipped. That setup, with baja rack + gobi ladder, still comes out a little cheaper than a whole gobi setup.

I think in most Group Buys, they typically are included. If we get talks going, I'll definitely ask and lobby for it to be included for discounts.

After a couple weeks of trying to get this going, I'm unable to get a positive response from Baja Rack on doing a group buy for T4R.org. I wish I had better news for y'alls that have responded with interest, but I don't think this deal will be getting off the ground.
