I've decided to sell my 4runner as it is a less-than-ideal tow vehicle for our teardrop trailer. Right now she needs to be washed and de-stickered but for the T4r.org group, I thought I'd post a "feeler" ad just to see if anyone out there is looking for a good rig.
Anyway, the specs are as follows:
1999 4runner, SR5, 3.4 auto with the rear E-locker (yes, it works.) Just under 150,000 miles.
Color is Desert Dune Metallic and the tires are <1 year old (about 9k miles on them.) Hankook Dyna Pro AT-Ms in 265/75/16. This is a "Tall coil" 4runner (tallest version of the 4runner ever made) and the suspension is stock.
EXCELLENT off-road!
Mods: Most obvious is the Addicted Off Road Tube bumper which replaced the factory bumper after a fender-bender last year. I have also installed a B&M external tranny cooler bypassing the stock tranny cooler to avoid the dreaded "pink milkshake" tranny failure.
It does have a noticeable dent in the driver's door courtesy of some ***** in a parking lot back in March. Does not impede the functioning of the window in any way, but just know that this is not a pristine "mall crawler." It also has a dent in the rocker panel that I think has been there a while.

I wasn't a fanatic about maintenance but I got the important stuff done. New T-belt at 118k (good until 209k.) Tranny flushed around 130k (will have to check the exac mileage, it was the same time the cooler was put in.) New brake pads and shoes around 125k.
Aftermarket stereo with iPod controls and aux input.
I'm asking $6k.
T4r.org SPECIALS: For my on-line buds (at T4R and the other forums I frequent - ExPo and CO4x4.org) I'm going to throw in some "freebies." These are items that I got for the 4runner that I will include only if I sell it through one of these forums. IOW, if I sell on CL, they come off and get sold separately.
- Scangauge II. Great for monitoring fuel consumption, knowing Distance to empty (default gas gauge) and best of all, is already programmed to show transmission temperature. A $160 value that I will include only if I sell on one of these forums.
- Yakima Rack landing pads (allows you to mount a Yakima rack for quick on/quick off mounting. See above for my Yakima mounted. No, the basket, bars and towers will not be included as they will go on my next rig.) This is about a $40 - $60 value.
- Husky floor liners, color matched (tan.) Form fitted for the front seats. Makes it easy to keep the front clean! Purchased in January for $80.
- And for those who have an amateur radio license (HAM) or are contemplating getting one, I'll leave the Larsen glass-mount 2m antenna on the glass. Seems to work very well although I admit I didn't use my 2m rig much because everyone I travel with is on CB only. This is a $110 value item.
