Feeler thread for 4th gen tubular bumpers

Posting this as a feeler thread, just to see if I have enough interest in this. I built a front tubular winch mount bumper for my 4th gen and I’m curious if others would be interested, if I get enough people interested, I may consider doing a batch of 10 bumpers to start. I can change it a bit if you’d like, but we can discuss details later on. The one on my vehicle right now is built for a 1” body lift and can conform fitment on 06-09. I haven’t fitted this on a 03-05 4Runner so I can’t confirm 100 percent fitment. If you are local or close and want to see if it will fit an 03-05 we can check that out too.

Im still going to add some shackle mounts and some other little odds and ends. I will update with more pictures as I get more done with it. I will be adding fog lights and an led bar behind the top center mesh, and will get it powder coated or bed liner when I’m all done.

Thanks! And it’s actually 1.5” schedule 40 pipe, and the winch frame area is 1/4” square tube frame and I used 10 gauge for plates and stuff. I may do 1/8” or 3/16” square tube next time to save a little on weight and 1/4” is a bit overkill since I added the 10 gauge to it. And it’s fully welded all around. All in all, this thing is not too heavy and is pretty damn strong. When I get everything finished, I’ll do a final weight too.

Sch 40 is pretty tough. I wonder if DOM is thinner or thicker at 1.5" looks great. And that would bolt right on to an 07?

Yeah, schedule 40 is pretty strong stuff. DOM is obviously stronger, and it is thicker than schedule 40 wall. it’s a lot heavier as well as cost more than schedule 40 too. And yes, this would bolt on to an 07 with 1” body lift

I would definitely take one that fits stock with suspension lift. Maybe some hooks for good measure

Sounds good, I’ll keep you in mind for one, and I will be adding shackles to the front of these as well. And I can do one for non body lift!

They'll both work for a bumper, which isn't really structural, or supporting anything.

Pipe is measured by ID and is round, tube is square or round and is measured by OD. DOM is cold worked/drawn over a mandrel to achieve its final size so its much stronger/lighter for the same strength. As far as I know they only do DOM tube but I would have guessed they made tube/pipe the same with same materials. We use both at work interchangeably depending on dimensions we need, they both can carry materials through them for our applications.

Just about finished with the front bumper. I need to get some more photos of it, but these two will have to do for now. Still planning on making some more of these if you guys are still interested. these can be customizable via request. if you want me to add or change something for your setup, id be more than happy to work with you. Base price for a bare metal bumper will be $800 plus shipping. and if you'd like it powder coated, it will be $200 more.
