Finally, a 5spd...was it worth it?

You paid more than I would have but 4k isn't that bad.

I wouldn't be bothered by that body rust at all. Ok, well maybe a little if I paid 4 grand. My rockers were like that and all I did was grind off the rust and put bed liner over it. I taped it off and it actually looks really good. That will last for much longer than I plan on having mine. My rig is also my 2nd vehicle i use for hunting and pulling my boat so I'm not worried if she has some battle scars.

Fix the axle seals/bearings, touch up the body the best you can, make sure the frame is solid and enjoy the shit out of it. You probably paid a little more than you should have but the truck otherwise looks pretty nice.

enjoy

As someone who has gotten a 4R home recently and discovered worse than expected rust somewhere, I'll repeat some encouragement.

Fix it, drive it, enjoy it. You may be disappointed in the purchase currently, but with the correct work it will last you a LONG time and you'll forget about how much it cost you.

FWIW I'd pay 4k for that because the frame seems to be in good shape. Frame rust is FAR worse than body. I considered a truck with rocker rust and a good frame when I was looking. The rust on the A pillar was a deal breaker for me, though.
