Hey everyone, as you can guess by my join date, I'm pretty new around here. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am an infantryman serving in the Marine Corps. I've been a die-hard domestic, American-made driver for most of my life. After a few outings with my neighbor in his 98 4Runner and after suffering a total loss on my last vehicle, (thanks to someone deciding to hit a parked car going 65-70 and spin into me) I decided to look for a Toyota. Found a 97 4Runner about a month ago that was a decent price. Decided I couldn't pass the price or the v6 5spd 4x4 up. So here I am now Grandwagoneer behind me and many more miles in a T4R to go.

Good to see a few Marines on here, after all it's my neighbor in base housing that convince me to make the switch. I'm an 0341 by trade, though I've done plenty of time back in the Iraq days as an 0311. Currently filling the 0369 billet, but thanks to the promotion rate slowing, still stuck as a Sgt for 5 years and counting now with no looks.

The Desert Yettis and Yucca Monsters still roam around here looking to snatch up young, unsuspecting Lcpl's. Range 400 and 410 are still a fun time to blow stuff up once you get over the following week of back pain and ringing of the ears.

I'm thoroughly pleased with the Yota thus far, I'll always be a Ford man at heart (before the Jeep I had an 85 f-150 with a 351c super cobra jet out a Mach-1 mustang) But the way this 4Runner is driving is making the transition rather comfy.

Welcome aboard and thank u for ur service! Sorry about ur Waggy. I had a '77 Cherokee Chief with a built 401 and TH400 auto. 4" Superlift and 35" BFGs. Did the retro grill mod. Damn I miss that truck! :usa2:
