Finally did plugs on the new 06

ya i think you needed to do them and you do no the normal time frame on thoese plugs are 30k

Did the plug third from the left come from the #6 cylinder? When I changed mine the threads on that plug were darker like that.

Also, sucks about your truck getting hit. Hopefully the damage wasn't too bad.

I had mine done a week or so after I bought it. They were still the originals @ 80k. Needless to say they were pretty bad. It still ran fine but it runs a bit better/smoother now

Now my original cabin air filter @ 80k was a whole other level of bad

Are all the plugs fairly accessible on the 4th gen V8? I'm going to be looking to take care of this on my new (to me) '06 sometime soon, along with all the fluids...

i cant remember....all i remember is that the denso's were the passeger side and NGKs driver side

I just bought a 2005 V6 with 83K miles. Carfax doesn't show that the plugs have been replaced. Should I do it? What brand, and can I get to them? In my Audi, you have to lift the friggin engine to take out all the plugs.

Do it for peace of mind. Use the factory recommended plugs. Here's a really good walk through:

You can get those plugs from the dealer or most any auto parts store.

After looking at that thread, I think my Audi was easier. I hope the air filter isn't a 2 hour job like it is on my A6
