Finally ordered some stuff for my 4runner!

I bought my wife a 1996 4runner a few years back, it was in very good condition and I talked the guy down too $5k. It didnt have the locker and was high on mileage but I always wanted a 3rd gen so I bought it.

She never really liked it, used too a v8 SUV and didnt like how it a was a little small. I bought her a 2000 EB Ford Expedition so we could pull some boats and stuff so I finally was able to take the 4runner as mine and sell off my Talon I built for so long.

After parting my talon out and using most of it for bills I was able to order some parts for my new project. I wanted good performance on an off the road so nothing too stiff. I already had purchased some ome 881 springs for cheap so Im just adding to those.

Rear:
New OEM LC 7 wrap coils
New LC Tokico Black shocks
Sonoran Steel sway bar brackets

Front:
OME 881 Coils
OME 90004 Front Shocks
Sonoran Steel OME 1" Steel sleeves
New sway bar links

Extras:

Sonoran Steel Diff Drop
Going to make my own extended brake lines
Made my own parking brake bracket.

I hope the weather warms up here in CO so I can install this all when it gets in. In the future I plan on running maybe a 1" body lift and some cutting too fit 35's or just stick with some 33's. Not sure yet. Also addictedtooffroad front, rear bumpers and sliders. Also a ARB rear locker. I really want to go SAS so I think I will just hold off on locking the front till I make that decision.

You don't by change have a garage and the tools needed to do a coil/shock swap do you?

I'm in Boulder, and have been trying to figure out what lift setup I want to go with, but don't have a garage so am looking at $300+ labor cost for most places.

Thanks for the offer on the help but I should beable to get it installed. The parts are coming in next week so I wont be ready for this weekend. My buddy has a Mitsubishi Montero and he just got a 2" suspension lift and I just want to show him up a little. I tried to talk him into a toyota but he was staying true to our Mitsubishi ways(we have been building turbo Mitsu's all our lives).

i have everything except for spring compressors to assemble the front struts... everything else we can do in my garage.... a paid a dude $40 to put the struts together. let me know if you need help man. i'm near i36 and sheridan so its not a long drive for you

LMAO, I love it. My other buddy has a 1985 Toyota pickup all jacked up and locked in perfect condition. He has already pulled him out a few times. LOL.

If you guys go to an auto part store you can buy cheap spring compressor kit for $30. I bought them when I was 16 and have used them for over 10 years on every car I owned. You just use a ratchet to crank them down.

I also have a harbor freight hydrolic compressor that was under $100 but the shock went out after a year or two. Just get the metal ones and you are set for life.

well i have the harbor freight ones but i couldn't fit the hooks in between the coils on the TRD coils. i've used them before for a lot of other stuff but couldn't get them to work on these. and the ratchet takes FOREVER lol

From the look of the OME's I might get them to fix. I always figured a way to work it even if the coils where wound real tight on my lowering springs for my mitsubishi's. If not I guess I'll fix the hydrolic one or bring them into a shop just to mount them up.

Know what you mean about the old lady driving the car, when I bought my 4r she sold her car hasn't bought a new one since. I drive a company rig to and from work, so no big deal but I can't do anything to the car that will have it down for the day. Told her once she buys a new car, ill stop spending money on guns, that didn't work either, the safe has more of hers in it than mine . Gonna have to brake down and buy another 4r now...... Pardon spelling and grammar, drugged up after a surgery laying on the couch typing on my phone

So you guys know I actually found pictures of people using the cheap spring compressor with no issues. Yea its a little bit of cranking but doing yourself is so much more fun!

I ordered up some Treadwright BF all terrain style 33" tires for my wifes expedition. BF's would have cost around $1000 shipped. I got the treadwrights for $620 shipped. I have the Guardogg treadwrights and love them.
