Bought a 98 limited with 172000 on it. Loaded with gold package. One owner with original window sticker. Fall in love with her. Truck was maintained every 5000 miles up to 92000. Purrs like a kitten, how many miles everyone think I get out of her. I'll post pic as soon as I figure out how from phone

Congrats on the rig, and welcome to the forum! There's no reason why you can't pile on tons of miles, as long as you take care of it with continued maintenance...speaking of which, have you done a timing belt yet? You bought it right around the time a new one should've been installed. That's the only big thing that needs done, otherwise it's all pretty basic stuff. Enjoy!

timing belt ?? and pics

Any way to tell if it was changed I have all the records up to around 90,000 and it states on car fax he changed it at 65,000. You think he would of changed it before now again. Is it hard to do can I do it my self. I know some are a pain in the.... But if i could look at it and tell if it was new or not would be helpfull. Here is some pics of my beautiful,, out of the wash and into my drive.

If a dealer did it, there may be a sticker on the front of the engine specifying the mileage when done. You really can't tell by eyeballing the belt--they usually don't show obvious wear. If you're familiar with working on vehicles, you could do it yourself, but it IS a vital repair, so it's certainly safer with someone who's trained to do them. If you determine it does need it, make sure you also change the water pump--it's buried under all the same stuff, behind the timing belt, so it doesn't make sense to do the labor twice (the part isn't terribly expensive, but the labor to replace it is the same as a timing belt). Your truck really IS beautiful--it looks like it just came off the showroom floor!
