First Dog. Pet cargo liner needed. Tailgate and side wheel well liner necessary?

I recommend a crate, mainly for safety, but for convenience as well. It cuts down on dog hair, eliminates scratching, gives the pup her space, and allows me to pack the 4Runner tight without having to worry about making room for her, or things falling on her. Thats my opinion :thumb3:

Congrats on the new addition. As stated previous, you can't go wrong with the Canvasback products. We have two GSD, and the biggest issue is hair. The best advice I think anyone can give you, is get proper training for you and your dog. Having a well mannered dog will be the best protection you can get for your vehicle, and it makes having dogs SO much more fun.

I have a yellow lab and the black cloth interior so I feel ya, but I got the Canvasback rear liner and it covers the entire rear, cargo floor and backs of the rear seats perfectly. Velcros on and rear seats can still fold down independently. I love the set up and has done a perfect job keeping dog hair and dirt under control, highly recommended.

I agree with above post - safety first and the safest thing is probably a crate secured in the back.

However, I have my dog in the back seat most times. She usually wears a harness so I use a sleepy pod clickit harness secured in the backseat.

As far as pet proofing - I use the ultimate pet liner (for more than just pet protection. When my dog rolls in something at the Barn, she goes in the back.
