First driving impression of 2011 LMTD

I posted yesterday that i picked up my 2011 LMTD so after coming from an audi and many other cars/trucks including a 330ci BMW / Nissan frontier , GMC yukon , xterra.and.a EVO X....lol yea ive owned alot of autos ,wife says i have a problem..heres my impression of 2011 LMTD.
First off it feels very solid its nimble for a big solid truck ,when i come into a turn it it takes it easy corners very well.
the steering is very light and numb..but dosent feel like its not going exactly where i want it...strange to explain but yea
the engine power seems ok when u step on it goes i will get used to it i imagine, just my audi was a lil rocket
i feel like im in a mean tank and everyone is checking it out which is kool...gives u the feeling that nothing and no where will stop you
everything inside feels very solid and well built...really no BS my first toyota and i see why ppl always say its well made
i thing im going to really enjoy doing a few mods....CAI exhaust and wider wheels and tires
It soaks up what ever bad road conditions are out there...here in NYC the roads are F...D up !
Radio is pretty good it pumps out nice bass...the JBL anyway
steering wheel is very nice and fat....(thats what she said)!!
hands down best truck i ever drove....its deff not a cross over soccer moms car like my Q5...but thats why i got a truck.

I am happy to see another person who likes how the 4Runner rides vs. how it doesn't ride like something else. Bravo!
lil bit more of an update.....
i went up in the mountains today to PA skiing....at first i was like WTF it seemed laboring to do 80 -90 up the mountain roads but i relised again its not my audi and you have press on the gas like a man lol...the engine roared and quickly got up to 80- or so yea you have to keep it pushed but once it was there she cruised and handled very well....
on the way home i drove it llike ,,,u should i kept my foot heavy and she was great....i dont recommend doing anything over 90 on twisty roads but other than that sweeet
umm 1 thing tho.......averaged 16 mpg ..lol she only has 200 miles on it hopefuly that will improve

Ummmm ill go out on a limb and say that Doing 80-90 mph will have that effect on MPG. But yes as the engine breaks in your mpg will improve, just keep it under warp speed and youll be fine, good luck and enjoy it.

The factory Dunflops made the steering feel stange. Threw some BFG's on and its like a whole new feeling.

Agree. I put Blizzaks on for the winter and they steer and track better than the oem Dunlops. Dunno what I'll do this Spring ... none of the tire stores will give me anything for 'em.

I plan to run the Dunflops in the warmer weather and switch out again next winter. Not worth selling and why wear the bfgs. When the Dunflops die I will invest in a good dry/highway tire. I did notice a loss of about 70 miles a tank on the bfgs.

I wrote a first driving impressions thread a few days ago on my new lmtd.
im still finding things every day that im loving on this beast...just did limo tint all around ...stuby short antena and an HId kit that makes it look amazing!!
ill post some pics when i put the new wheels n tires on!
My only gripe and its kinda big one is i hate!! the soft loose steering sheesh ok there.
Why the hell is it soo boosted the steering? i hope i get used of it i hate it on the highway...im hoping with the 275/20 tires im putting on it will give it some more traction on the highway...traction wrong word cause it grips well...more straight less wonder is more like it
anyone have any positive thoughts on this?

The boosted steering is great in a parking lot. My SR5 tracks really well on the interstate. I don't find myself wandering onto the rumble strips versus my old GTI on my 4hr drive back to my folks'.
Agreed. In a parking lot n around town is very good
I just think on highway they should have used a variable assist so it tightens up. Just my 2c. Just a lil vent wanted to get out.

Just lift your runner and put taller, wider, heavier tires on heavier wheels and you will be thankful for the assistance. I know I am. Just a thought.

I was still running the oem Dunlops when I put Blizzaks on for the winter, and I find even these snow tires track better, and wander less on the hwy.
I expect you'll see improvement with some quality tires.
