First time 4runner owner with a few questions

Greetings to the forum members,

My wife and I are now the owners of 21 Venture Edition. This is our first 4Runner. Better late than never. Got a couple of questions: 1) on a cold startup, say 50 degrees, sitting overnight, the Runner fires up and idles at 2000rpm. It will sit there for at least 15 seconds or a little longer before it gradually slows. Is this normal? Just seems fast to me. 2nd question. When driving on flat ground at around 40mph the vehicle seems to surge. Feels like your lightly getting on and off the gas. If you go slower or faster it does not happen. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

1.Normal. All cars have a fast idle at start up so the engine warms up faster. (BTW, 50 degrees is far from cold. Cold is below zero, or even lower).

On q2, I think for me it does it when searching for a gear. Every once in a while I'll see the RPMs going up and down just a little as it is shifting back and forth. I paid for the OTT tuning (med) and don't believe I have seen it since.
